Can't place Google widget on home screen

When I attempt to add the Google widget to the home screen, it gets added to Niagara launcher, which is the other launcher on my phone. It also loses track of the default launcher, so I get prompted for that again.

I've been able to add other widgets successfully (AntennaPod and WeaWow), just can't add Google.
